If you are an ESD consultant, the old Green Travel Plan or new Movement and Place Plan help you gather your points. In the new Buildings tool, for an ESD consultant to achieve the Community Resilience and Organisation Resilience points, you need to demonstrate the plan was implemented and is achieving the proposed mode share targets.
If you are a project manager: state and local planning authorities levy Conditions of Consent on built environment projects. It is no longer acceptable to meet these conditions with a “tick-a-box” approach to a Green Travel Plan or School Transport Plan. These conditions are more rigorous now, with certifiers seeking confirmation there is a dedicated person resourcing the implementation of the plan and that the actions in the plan are communicated, implemented and evaluated. For schools and hospitals, these conditions continue in perpetuity.
